These are the bare minimum movements for long-term capacity - the big three that underpin independence.
Why the Floor Matters
Many older adults don’t realise they’ve lost the ability to get off the floor until they need it most, and that gap can have devastating consequences.
At Ground Up, we see the floor as a master movement. Safely practicing getting down and back up naturally develops the other abilities we rely on:
Rolling and pushing
Pulling and crawling
Bending forward and torso twisting
Reaching and lifting
When you practice the floor, you practice life.
